Lakeside Romantic Moment Framed by Autumn Nature
This story of Augusto and Isabella, a lovely couple visiting Japan to spend quality time together. When Augusto reached out to me, he requested a photoshoot in Nara. Even though I’m a Kyoto based photographer, I was more than happy to travel to Nara to document their moments. During our discussion, he mentioned that he wanted to propose during the session and booked a two hour shoot to keep everything relaxed and natural. They arrived that morning at a serene park surrounded by beautiful autumn scenery. I had already been waiting quietly with my candid lens, positioned just enough out of sight to keep the surprise intact. As they stood by the lakeside, enjoying the peaceful view, Augusto suddenly dropped to one knee and opened the ring box. Isabella was stunned for a moment before saying yes, and the two of them shared a warm hug. I captured this heartfelt proposal framed by the tranquil lake and the soft tones of the autumn landscape.
Afterward, they sat together in a gazebo by the lakeside, sharing a light conversation about the excitement of the surprise proposal. I took this calm moment to photograph the details of the engagement ring.
They continued exploring the area, pausing for a few portraits beneath the lush trees brushed with fall colors. As the sun rose, the light softly illuminated the greenery and made the autumn leaves glow. The location was simply beautiful, with a serene atmosphere. Enjoying the moment, they danced playfully on the grass, pausing to share laughter when a deer wandered close. It was a simple scene, but one that created sweet memories of Nara.
A nearby structure with traditional Japanese architecture offered another lovely backdrop, so I captured a few portraits from different angles to add a cultural touch to their gallery. They later walked toward an open grassy field where they fed some of the gentle Nara deer. The animals gathered around them, creating a memorable part of their trip. When we passed a small local shrine, they stopped briefly for a quick photo to add a bit more cultural ambience to the collection.
Every corner seemed to offer a picturesque spot. I photographed them across the open field with autumn nature behind them as they walked hand in hand, enjoying the gentle morning breeze. I also took photos combining all the elements around us, architecture, deer, and the warm hues of the season. In front of the lake and a majestic cultural building nearby, they exchanged soft smiles, creating the perfect closing shots for their gallery. I truly wish them happiness, and I hope these photos take them right back to that beautiful autumn morning in Japan.
