Simple Joys in Maruyama Park


When a lovely couple from Texas reached out to me to capture their vacation memories in Japan, they had one request: natural and greenery settings. Knowing their vision, I immediately recommended Maruyama Park, a beautiful location that perfectly matched what they were looking for. This story belongs to Austin and Kristen, who took a short break from their busy lives to enjoy some quality time together.

It was early autumn in Kyoto, and the Japanese garden atmosphere felt serene and calm. We began the session in the morning, when the park was still quiet and the soft light filtered through the trees. Austin and Kristen immediately fell in love with the place, it was exactly what they had imagined: peaceful and full of natural beauty. We started capturing moment at a stone bridge, where the trees formed a gentle frame around them. When they stood at the center, surrounded by layers of green and gold leaves, it felt like a perfect balance of nature and romance. A short walk away, we found a small stream with stepping stones. They walked carefully across, sharing a gentle kiss that created a moment full of tenderness.

As we explored the park, the gentle autumn breeze felt relaxing and carried a sense of tranquility. The leaves had just begun to turn yellow, softly rustling as they moved. In the stillness of the garden, they shared a small dance, light steps, soft laughter, and the sound of leaves beneath their feet, simple moments that spoke of connection and peace.

Nearby, we discovered a traditional wooden Japanese building where we captured a few quiet, heartfelt moments. They strolled hand in hand through the peaceful paths, exchanging smiles and glances creating a warm, intimate atmosphere throughout the morning. It was a simple yet beautiful reminder of love’s calm presence, with no rush, no distractions, just two people enjoying their time together.
