A Beautiful Morning Filled with a Romantic Surprise
What started as a casual couple photoshoot turned into one of the most memorable moments. This is the story of Chavo and Rachel, a lovely couple who wanted to capture their trip to Japan. Chavo reached out to me to book a photoshoot session, but during our discussion, he also shared his plan to propose to Rachel during the shoot. After discussion on the timing and location, he chose a beautiful botanical park for their morning session.
We arrived early, and the atmosphere felt calm and peaceful. The morning light filtered softly through the trees as they walked hand in hand along the path. Their neutral-toned outfits blended perfectly with the greenery, creating a natural and timeless look. The gentle sunshine touched the leaves, and I began capturing the moment of their laughter, quiet gestures, and the serene mood that surrounded them. We paused by a small lake where swan swam gracefully, a simple yet charming part of the morning.
As we continued exploring, we reached a small wooden bridge. From a distance, I took a wide shot where their reflection appeared clearly in the river below. When they posed back to back in the middle of the bridge, Chavo suddenly knelt down and opened the ring box. Rachel turned around, completely surprised and of course, she said yes. It was a heartfelt, emotional moment, framed by nature’s calm beauty. After the proposal, we continued with some engagement portraits. I took a few close-up shots of their hands, capturing the beautiful engagement ring that sparkled softly under the morning light.
Their smiles and affectionate glances made every frame feel warm and genuine. We passed a small shrine with a bright orange torii gate, adding a touch of Kyoto’s culture to their story. They also took a short break beneath tall pine trees, enjoying the relaxing morning breeze together.
A short walk away, we found a small bamboo grove with a narrow path. The sunlight filtered through the bamboo leaves, creating a golden glow, perfect for soft, natural lighting. They laughed, danced lightly, and celebrated their happy moment. To wrap up the morning session, we captured a few final shots near a rustic wooden area, where the texture of the logs added an earthy, aesthetic feel. I felt grateful to witness and photograph such a meaningful chapter in their journey.
