A Warm Family Moment Surrounded by Serene Nature
This is the story of Christina and her family, who wished to capture their family memories in the beauty of Kyoto’s autumn. Two years ago, Christina had already trusted me to photograph their family, and this year she reached out again, this time to celebrate a new chapter, as they welcomed their baby into the family. It was truly an honor to be chosen once more, knowing she appreciated my portfolio and trusted me to document these precious moments. The morning felt calm and refreshing as they arrived at a beautiful garden surrounded by serene landscapes. I began photographing them on a stone bridge above a tranquil pond, where they held hands and lovingly gazed at their little one. The warmth of their family bond was quietly reflected in the peaceful surroundings.
A beautiful memory from two years ago
The scenery accented with vibrant red maple leaves, became a rich backdrop for their portraits. I captured a variety of heartfelt moments, intimate frames of mom, dad, and baby, along with tender interactions between the grandparents and their granddaughter. Their baby girl was incredibly adorable, occasionally offering a gentle smile as her family played peekaboo with her. As every corner of the garden revealed another beautiful setting, I continued photographing them as they crossed the stepping stones over a gentle stream, with autumn foliage adding depth and texture to the scene.
They enjoyed a slow morning walk, walking down stone steps lined with lush trees. Red, brown, and copper-toned leaves naturally framed the scene, giving it a soft, cinematic feel. At the end of the steps, their baby stood on a stone, surrounded and supported by her family. The scene reflected a sense of love, encouragement, and togetherness. She had just started learning how to walk, and watching her take small steps toward her parents was incredibly touching to capture.
As the sunlight rose higher, it provided beautiful natural lighting, gently illuminating them amid the rich autumn colors. For the final shots, I photographed the family in front of a majestic temple, with rows of trees behind them, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and nature. It was a joy to document Christina and her family once again. I hope these photographs bring them lasting happiness and, whenever they look back at them, remind them of that beautiful autumn day in Kyoto.
