A Candid Session of Light, Love, and Stillness


After the sun went down and the lanterns began to glow, Kyoto revealed a different kind of beauty, one that felt intimate, quiet, and deeply romantic. Just a few hours earlier, Colton had proposed to McKenzie during their morning session, and now, as night fell, they wished to create more memories together through a night time photoshoot. We began the session in a lively street lined with Japanese shops and cozy restaurants. The soft hum of conversation and the faint aroma of traditional dishes filled the air, while warm lanterns illuminated the path.

As we walked into a narrow alleyway, the atmosphere grew more intimate. The dimly lit path and surrounding wooden walls gave the scene a sense of quiet romance. I took a few close up portraits, letting the lantern reflections illuminate their faces. A short walk away, we found an area where colorful lanterns hung above the street, the mixing of colors creating a beautiful, dreamlike contrast.

Night session feels not complete without a playful stop at the vending machines, the reflection of neon glow added a modern touch to the gallery. They laughed, leaned close to each other, and shared a moment of stillness before continuing their stroll. They danced softly under the city lights, with the glowing streets as their romantic backdrop. It was a simple night, yet beautifully captured in every frame.
