A Celebration of Love Framed by Nature and Timeless Tradition

This is the story of Ethan and Marilyn, a lovely couple who chose Japan for their autumn holiday. As they searched for a photographer, they immediately connected with my style. During our conversation, Ethan shared that he had recently proposed to Marilyn during their trip to Osaka, and they were traveling early in the morning to Kyoto for their engagement photos. The autumn breeze felt calm and refreshing as they arrived at a quiet area surrounded by traditional wooden buildings. I began photographing them walking hand in hand through the charming path, with the warm tones of wood and classic architecture bringing a nostalgic atmosphere to the scene.

A short walk away, they passed beneath roadside trees whose leaves were turning a soft golden yellow. The rising morning sun created beautiful natural lighting that gently wrapped around them. They paused for a moment in front of a wooden façade, rubbing their hands together and warming each other with a tender embrace, a simple gesture that felt intimate and genuine.

Embracing the serenity of the morning, the couple slipped into a spontaneous dance, with the tranquil Japanese setting turning the moment into something beautifully cinematic, a gentle blend of calmness and joy.

For the final shots, I photographed them with the majestic pagoda and autumn scenery as their backdrop. The golden sunlight illuminated them beautifully, and their gentle kiss added a touch of romance, creating a harmonious blend of nature, tradition, and heartfelt connection. I’m grateful to have documented their short romantic getaway and turned these moments into timeless memories. I wish them happiness always, and I hope that whenever they look back at these photographs, they’ll be reminded of that beautiful morning in Kyoto.
