A Gentle Celebration of New Beginnings

Eva and Leniza, a lovely couple from the Dominican Republic, recently got engaged and wanted to celebrate this special chapter of their lives by capturing memories during their first trip to Japan. Drawn to the warmth and emotion in my work, they wished for a session that felt natural, intimate, and filled with soft morning light a reflection of their genuine connection. We started early in the morning, when the streets were still quiet and wrapped in the gentle breeze of autumn. The peaceful start of the day created the perfect atmosphere to explore Kyoto’s Gion district a place where time seems to slow down, and the beauty of traditional Japan reveals itself in every corner.

to preserve this memory, they also requested a vintage edit, giving the collection a timeless charm

Walking through narrow streets lined with wooden houses, they held hands and laughed softly. Their chemistry was effortless gentle smiles, shared jokes, and warm glances that made each frame come alive. The morning light kissed the wooden textures, creating a cozy and timeless feel that matched their calm yet joyful energy. As we wandered further, we came to a charming bridge overlooking a clear river. The golden light of sunrise began to touch the trees, turning their leaves into hues of soft yellow and amber. Nearby stood a graceful willow tree, its long branches swaying gently as if framing the love between them.

A short walk away, we stopped by a local shrine, where vibrant orange torii gates and hanging lanterns added a lovely contrast to the soft tones of the morning. The colors, the calm autumn breeze, and their closeness made each photo radiate warmth and emotion.

Just beyond, a stone bridge framed by rows of trees crossed the river the perfect spot to symbolize stepping into their next chapter together. Of course, we couldn’t skip Japan’s must-have photo stop: the vending machines! It added a fun and playful touch to the story, showing another side of their joyful connection.

As the session came to an end, Eva and Leniza took a slow stroll through the quiet neighborhood, enjoying the fresh autumn breeze and the stillness of the morning. Watching them walk side by side, I felt grateful to capture not just images, but emotions a story of love, laughter, and new beginnings. May these photographs forever remind them of this peaceful morning in Kyoto a celebration of their love before forever begins.
