A Heartfelt Story Framed by Autumn and Tradition
This story of Jorge and Pauli, a lovely couple that visit Japan for collecting memories and enjoying quality time together. While searching for a photographer to document their moments, they came across my portfolio and booked their session long before their arrival. During our discussion, Jorge mentioned that he planned to propose during the shoot and asked for my help in setting up the surprise. I was more than happy to assist and recommended a location that blended nature and tradition for this special moment.
They arrived at the location early in the morning, a quiet park surrounded by warm autumn colors. The morning breeze felt relaxing, and the soft sunlight gave us beautiful natural lighting. A short walk brought them to a tall pagoda rising above the garden. While I was already preparing my lens from a hidden spot, ready to capture the moment candidly, they enjoyed the view of the pagoda and the surrounding landscape. Suddenly, Jorge knelt down and opened the ring box. Pauli was completely surprised, but her expression quickly shifted into joy as she said yes. Jorge’s eyes welled up too, relieved and happy as his proposal was accepted.
After the heartfelt proposal, we continued the session. I took a few close-up shots of the beautiful engagement ring. Soft sunlight filtered through the trees, gently illuminating them as they shared an intimate embrace, holding each other close, followed by a playful piggyback pose. They celebrated the moment with a small dance among the autumn leaves.
They then took another set of portraits with the pagoda and temple in the background from different angles. I captured their genuine connection through their loving glances and exchanged smiles. Using a wide-angle lens, I framed the traditional surroundings, nature, and this lovely couple together.
To end the session, they sat on a bench by the riverside, sharing laughs and enjoying the calm atmosphere. I felt grateful to capture this special moment for them. I hope these photos become memories they cherish for a long time and a gentle reminder of this beautiful chapter in their story.
