Beautiful Day in a Serene Park and Tranquil Riverside


This is the story of Kev and Michelle, a lovely couple traveling to Japan to spend quality time together and collect more beautiful memories. While searching for a photographer to document their trip, they instantly connected with my style. They asked for recommendations on locations and the best time to experience Japan’s autumn scenery at its finest. After sharing a few options based on their preferences, they decided to book a two-hour session, from midday to late afternoon toward sunset.

Walking along a narrow path lined with vibrant red foliage, they danced gently, enjoying the peaceful surroundings. They paused for a moment in a wooden gazebo, admiring the view as the landscape shifted into warm browns and yellows. I captured each gesture of connection, their soft glances, exchanged smiles, and gentle touches.

Continuing down the path, they reached a small lake where delicate orange branches framed the scene naturally. A short walk away, they arrived at an open grassy field. I captured a few angles as they laughed, danced again, and simply enjoyed the moment. Entering a grove of tall bamboo, the air felt fresh while the scene turning into a calm Japanese zen atmosphere. In the middle of the bamboo, they shared a gentle kiss, adding an intimate touch to their gallery.

Leaving the garden, they passed a row of yellow autumn trees that added a warm contrast to their collection of photos. Nearby, a small garden with soft pink and white flowers created a delicate, flowery aesthetic and perfect for a few romantic portraits.

As the day moved toward late afternoon, we arrived at the next location: a tranquil river. I photographed them crossing the stepping stones, with a silhouette of the hills behind them and autumn trees along the riverbank forming a natural frame. I captured a few angle variations as they stood at the river’s edge, surrounded by the peaceful scenery. Time felt as if it had paused, just the two of them in that quiet, intimate moment.

In the riverside area, a long open space covered with grass and scattered fallen leaves became the perfect spot for playful poses. They held hands, shared laughter, and even did a fun piggyback pose.

They then walked toward a nearby bridge, where I photographed them from both above and below, capturing different perspectives. As the day slowly shifted into dusk and the city lights began to sparkle, they sat by the riverside, taking in the beautiful evening view. The silhouette of the hills, the twinkling lights, and the calm water created the perfect ending to their day in Japan. I’m grateful to have documented their time in Kyoto, from the autumn filled park to the peaceful riverside. I hope these photos will always remind them of their beautiful day together in this enchanting city.
