Serene Morning in Nature and Intimate Night Stroll


This is the story of Vincent and Janine, a lovely couple from Greece who visited Japan and wanted to capture moments for their wedding invitation and bridal portraits. While browsing for a photographer, they were immediately drawn to my style. During our discussion, I learned that they loved Japanese nature as well as the night city ambience. I recommended two locations that would fit both preferences, and they happily agreed to book two sessions. On the day of the shoot, they arrived in the morning at a serene garden surrounded by a serene landscape. I started by photographing them at a lakeside gazebo framed by warm autumn tones. They continued exploring the park, crossing an enchanting bridge set in the middle of lush trees.

The soft autumn palette made every frame look naturally beautiful. I documented their gestures of connection, gentle glances and the way they held hands while walking along the forested path. The autumn morning breeze felt relaxing and they enjoyed the moment fully, sharing a small dance on the grass while fallen leaves and branches formed a natural frame around them.

I took a variety of angles since every corner of this location offered a charming photo spot. A peaceful ambience filled the atmosphere, when they walked through a bamboo grove. The morning session ended with a few shots by stacked wooden logs, adding a rustic and natural touch to their gallery.

The second session began as the sun went down, in an area offering both traditional charm and night-street ambience. We captured their moments in front of a local shrine. The vibrant torii gate and warm lantern glow added cultural depth while keeping a romantic setting. They continued exploring the neighborhood, walking through alleys lined with wooden buildings. I photographed them in front of several storefronts with unique signs and lanterns. The warm light hitting the wooden façades, combined with lanterns softly illuminating their faces, created a cinematic scene.

I continued capture their gestures of connection, soft touches, quiet smiles, and the way they leaned into each other under the dim evening light. The narrow alleys, lit only by scattered shop lights, naturally brought an intimate feeling to the scene.

When they passed a row of colorful lanterns, they paused to admire the view. I captured this candid moment, with the muted night tones blending with the soft glow of the lanterns to create a dreamy contrast. A vending machine nearby created a unique moment, the neon reflection on the glass added an aesthetic, everyday Japan touch to their portraits.

Before ending the session, I photographed them in front of a storefront decorated with lanterns and luminous signs. For the final shots, they sat by the riverside and illuminated by gentle city lights. A simple quiet moment that felt deeply meaningful. I’m grateful to have captured their time in Japan. I wish them a joyful marriage, and I hope that whenever they look back at these photographs, they remember that beautiful day in Kyoto.
