Collecting Timeless Memories
Jarell and Ivvy, a newly engaged couple, traveled to Japan and wanted to capture their special moment in a way that felt natural and meaningful. They were drawn to my work for its candid storytelling photos that feel alive, joyful, and full of genuine connection. During our discussion, I learned that these photos would be displayed at their wedding day, making this session even more special.
We started early in the morning, just as the first light began to touch Kyoto. The morning was kind, wrapped in serenity. Peaceful start that makes every click of the shutter feel magical. Our location was century old Japanese buildings that surround by beautiful landscape. It perfectly reflected what Jarell and Ivvy envisioned: a blend of traditional Japanese charm and the serene beauty of nature. As they walked hand in hand through the old paths, laughter and soft giggles filled the morning breeze. Their chemistry was effortless playful glances, shared smiles, and the kind of connection that needed no direction. In front of the Japanese classic building, they held each other close, the scene radiating a timeless aesthetic that felt both cinematic and tender.
We later moved toward an old staircase framed by tall trees. I captured them walking side by side, each step symbolizing the beginning of their shared journey ahead, simple, genuine, and full of hope. When passed line of trees, sunlight soon peeked through the branches, wrapping them in a gentle golden glow. It was one of those moments where everything aligned: light, emotion, and love.
A few steps away, we found a beautiful spot where the landscape naturally framed the moment, blending with traditional Japanese buildings in the background and illuminated by the soft sunrise light. They laughed, leaned close, and looked at each other the way only people in love do, quietly, sincerely.
This photo story wouldn’t be complete without a moment at the vending machines, an iconic stop for anyone visiting Japan. We ended the session by capturing their candid morning stroll around the charming neighborhood. Watching them enjoy that peaceful autumn morning, I felt grateful not just to capture images, but to preserve emotions that will soon become part of their wedding story. I hope these photos will always remind Jarell and Ivvy of this calm, beautiful morning in Kyoto, the beginning of a lifelong journey, framed in love and gentle light.
